Meet the Team

Jean Ashland, Ph.D.Jean Ashland, PhD. CCC-SLP: Dr. Ashland is a speech language pathologist and pediatric feeding and swallowing specialist. Before joining the Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Center of Maine she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).

At MGH, Dr. Ashland was an integral member of the pediatric team for inpatient and outpatient services in the Department of Speech, Language and Swallowing Disorders. She participated in interdisciplinary clinics including: The Pediatric Feeding/Swallowing Feeding Team, Craniofacial and Cleft Palate Team, Pediatric Airway, Voice and Swallowing Center and Newborn Follow-Up Clinic.

 

Dr. Ashland has published more than twenty articles and book chapters on topics including cleft lip and palate, pediatric swallowing, treatment of velopharyngeal insufficiency and treatment of swallowing disorders in the neonatal intensive care unit. She has taught about pediatric feeding, swallowing and cleft lip/palate at Boston University, Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, Harvard University and The Harvard School of Dentistry.


She made numerous national and international presentations to profession medical groups about pediatric feeding/swallowing and airway problems.

 


Danielle Fossa, M.S., CCC-SLP



Danielle Fossa, M.S., CCC-SLP Danielle provides feeding assessment and treatment in-person and via teletherapy. She has extensive experience in working collaboratively with different professionals to support her clients. Danielle has presented nationally at ASHA conventions on feeding treatment approaches.
